The Consorzio per la Tutela dei Vini Valpolicella d.o.c. is an association whose
members are vine-growers, winemakers and bottlers. This Consortium was established
in the region more than 40 years ago to protect the quality of Valpolicell a wines
and to ensure compliance wi th the production standards laid down by regulations.
Work covers many sectors, one of the most important being total control over
the wine production chain, from the vineyard to the bottle. Almost daily contact
with the individual wine producers, whether fami ly-run businesses or large groups,
makes the Consortium an important and secure point of reference for whoever would
like to know more about Valpolicella and its renowned wines.
On 24th March this year Amarone, one of the most appreciated great Italian red wines in Sweden, became DOCG (Designation of Controll ed and Guaranteed Origin): an award given only to a few high quality wines.
